Yes, I've come to accept House's philosophy. Not because of what's going on in the series (still I do love it, even though Cameron's gone), but from experience. We lie to our family, our friends, our professors (come on admit it! ^_^) and, yes, sometimes we even lie to ourselves.

White lies count of course. Fibs, loopholes and those out of necessity are also included. It may not always be a bad thing, but because we (yes WE) are capable of doing it, makes it difficult for me to completely trust anyone.

And therein lies (no pun intended) the flaw of my own philosophy. My idea that those closest to me can always be trusted if you cared for them with all your heart, is starting to lose ground. I realize that those same people can hurt you, too. From simple disappointment to downright betrayal. They can lie to you, cheat on you and even exploit you for as long as you don't realize what they've done. Sometimes, because we need, want or just like these people, we let them do it anyway.

Now, this doesn't mean I've taken a pessimistic view on humanity like a certain maverick diagnostician. It just means i've lost some of my optimism towards them, leaning closer to realism. It was probably a mistake to be solely dependent on them for my happiness.

Probably...

I've experienced true joy for a time... but never one that truly lasts. I wonder if true happiness even exists...

So now I search for something to live for...

And I don't even know where to begin...
